The process of pureeing is fairly similar regardless of what food it is. Sometimes there are extra steps unique to a particular recipe, such as removing any fatty bits or using the sauce from the dish to puree with. These helpful tips and variations can easily be found beneath the directions for each recipe.
In order to puree, you will need a few kitchen tools. Please see our handy guide on Products and Tools to give you the rundown on what you need to get started.
Standard Method to Puree
Cut food into large bite-sized pieces and place in blender/food chopper.
Chop food at medium speed, until minced.
Increase speed to high or use the Puree function and continue pureeing, slowly adding water. Occasionally scrape the sides of the blender with a small spatula to ensure all food is pureed. Repeat this step until the desired texture is reached.
